| There are many different styles of fixtures used in painting. The one pictured here, a Manual Vertical Flip Top Fixture, is one of the least expensive. These are commonly used for small to mid-size parts. Larger parts require a much heavier mask, which makes it difficult to open and close in a manual fixture. In this case, an Automatic Vertical Flip Top Fixture is recommended. Side cylinders automatically open and close the mask, replacing the operators function and easing their burden. For very small parts, a Bench Style Automatic Vertical Flip Top Fixture may be used. These are less expensive than an Automatic Vertical Flip Top Fixture and much smaller. They can be designed to work in a bench booth or mounted on a floor stand. When both sides of a part need to be painted, a Rollover Trunnion Fixture is the tool of choice. This allows for the manufacture of front and rear masking of the part. The operator paints front of the part, rotates mask 180 degrees, and paints rear of part. Operator then rotates mask back to load/unload position. |
